How does the pass guarantee work?
We believe in this course enough to guarantee it. If you complete all video lessons and quizzes, take both full-length practice exams, score below the passing threshold, and still do not pass the NPTE, we will extend your course access for an additional 12 months at no charge. What subscription options are available?
NPTE Explained is available in three plans: 3 months for $249.99, 6 months for $349.99, and 12 months for $399.00. All plans include the same content, quizzes, diagnostic quiz, practice exams, and notepad features. The only difference is how long you have access. We recommend the 12-month plan if you want to use it during PT school coursework and for NPTE prep.
How many videos are included and how long is each one?
The course includes 106+ animated video lessons across 15 subject areas. Each video is between 10 and 20 minutes depending on topic complexity. The total library represents over 30 hours of structured content.
What is the diagnostic quiz and how does it work?
The diagnostic quiz is a 50-question assessment covering all major NPTE topic areas. You take it at the beginning of your study journey to identify your strongest and weakest subjects. Your results help you prioritize which video lessons to watch first so you spend your time on what matters most.

NPTE Explained includes two full-length, 225-question practice exams designed to mirror the format and difficulty of the actual NPTE. Each exam is timed at 5 hours to simulate real testing conditions. You'll receive a detailed score report that breaks down your performance by subject area. Every question includes a thorough explanation so you learn from both correct and incorrect answers.
Do quiz and exam questions include detailed explanations?
Yes. Every question across the diagnostic quiz, pre and post video quizzes, and both full-length practice exams includes a detailed explanation. Whether you answer correctly or incorrectly, you'll see the reasoning behind the right answer so you can deepen your understanding and avoid repeating mistakes.
Can I take notes while watching videos?
Yes. NPTE Explained has a built-in notepad that sits right alongside the video player. You can type notes as you watch each lesson, and your notes stay connected to the specific video they belong to. No need for a separate document or app.
Is this just the same content as the PT Essentials Book in video form?
No. While there is overlap in core topics, NPTE Explained goes deeper in several areas and the animated video format allows for dynamic demonstrations of clinical tests, movement analysis, and physiological processes that static illustrations cannot replicate. The two products complement each other well but serve different learning styles.
Are the quiz questions the same as the NPTE Platform question bank?
No. The pre and post quizzes, diagnostic quiz, and practice exams are all unique to the video course. They are designed specifically to assess your understanding of the lesson content. The NPTE Platform's adaptive question bank is a separate product focused on exam simulation and clinical reasoning. The two complement each other without overlapping.
Can I use this for PT school, or is it only for NPTE prep?
Both. The curriculum is organized by subject area and aligned with standard DPT and PTA coursework. Many students start watching videos alongside their classes and then return to the same material for NPTE review.
Is this for DPT students only, or can PTA students use it too?
The content is relevant for both DPT and PTA students. The core physical therapy concepts covered in the videos apply to both the NPTE for PT and NPTE for PTA examinations.
